ELE-VAriations for oboe, bassoon, and accordion
(Trio 335: Amy Goeser, oboe; Heike Storm, accordion; Steve Vacchi, bassoon)
2002
ELE-VAriations for oboe, bassoon, and accordion was commissioned in 2002 by Trio 335, a modern chamber group dedicated to performing both baroque and contemporary works. The piece was premiered in August of 2002 at the 34th International Double Reed Society Convention in Banff, Canada and has also been performed by the group in the Northwest US and in Germany. Trio 335 plans to record the work for commercial release along with other works commissioned by the group on an upcoming album. The modified arrangement of the variations, replacing accordion with clarinet and piano, received honorable mention in the Fifth Annual Voices of Change Russell Horn Young Composers Competition in 2002.
